Who ever said the sky’s the limit was wrong and we have living proof. American chemical engineer and NASA astronaut Donald Roy Pettit had a six-month stay aboard the International Space Station and a six-week expedition to find meteorites in Antarctica, but this is not what stands out in his life, his passion for photography is what I find inspiring.
With opportunities such as travelling to Antarctica and outer space, Pettit has taken advantage of these almost unreachable locations and taken incredible images. Pettit takes these photos by combining a series of 30-second exposure photos, this results in brilliant colourful displays of paths made by stars and earthly lights over 10 to 15 minutes in length.
